For such a unique city, Miami, Florida seems to get overshadowed by other American destinations. Cities like New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles often command more attention, and even those in search of coastal getaways find other options. On the West Coast that might mean San Diego or Seattle, both of which possess unique and…
You know what it is like. You are all hyped up to go somewhere, the bags are packed, the bookings are done. And yet there is something bothering. While a wildlife tour in Uganda is a once in a lifetime opportunity, the country and its culture are still completely new to you and you are…
I really am not trying to be crude and uncouth. I do have alarms going off (almost every time I curse, saying,” But what will they think? What does that say about you?) Clearly, the alarms were malfunctioning when I wrote my infamous “Fuck, Fuck, Fuck” post, but usually, their siren is quite piercing. So,…

It is once in a pale blue moon that I take a guest post, and usually then only when the moon reflects on me off a still lake and the breeze is just so and I feel romance in the tiniest cells of the littlest toe. And so, if I took this one, there is…
Greece holidays for most families mean sun, sea, sand and sunburn. Yet the mainland and surrounding islands are steeped in a rich and fascinating history just waiting to be discovered. The problem is, how do you get the kids away from the beach occasionally and interested in the story of Greece, without making them feel…
