Keeping That Next Dream Alive- Cool Country Facts about Spain- Family Bucket List #8: Burgos, Spain

Keeping That Next Dream Alive- Cool Country Facts about Spain- Family Bucket List #8: Burgos, Spain

As you may already know we’re going to Spain. And though I speak of it as if it is happening tomorrow, it’ s not, and it may never unfold into our next reality. But Kobi and I are hopeless dreamers and dreamers who have been lucky enough to take the radical steps necessary to make our ship sail in due course towards our ever-afters. We’ve also been extremely blessed by the winds being kind and the storms being relatively benign. We love living like a local and will continue our liquified homelessness and still after our six months in India are over this April, we’re ready to roam again to secret country number 15 [is that right?], Israel, and then Spain. Logically, to keep our dreams vibrant and vivid, and to further produce drool when we start to forget, we’ll pick a spot and do a bit of research to shaken up any fairy dust lethargy. And so…. E-hem. It is my esteem honor to enlighten myself and you with...

Riding A Bike In the UK- Healthy Family Lifestyle Travel

Riding A Bike In the UK- Healthy Family Lifestyle Travel

We’re into health. In theory, we are totally into health. In theory, we run, play, move, hike, and exercise all the time, as a family, joyously and chirpily with no complaints, whining, issues, or bouts of laziness. In theory, our family is the epitome of health and wellness. In reality, we do great active things in between long bursts of sluggish laziness. We try, we do, we move, we explore, and then we fall back into habits of it’s-just-easier-to-chill. And so, I’m doing yoga now twice a day for the next ten days, Kobi is looking into Thai Chi, and we’ve established that we’ll do sunset beach walks twice a week. In addition to that, we’re playing our favorite songs more, dancing more, and in general trying to move as a family. We think this is important.   We’re still dreaming of biking through Europe in a few years and so, I found this and thought it would be so very cool to share this with you. momondo has created...

8 Cool Facts About Portugal- Family Travel Blog Bucket List

8 Cool Facts About Portugal- Family Travel Blog Bucket List

We’re planning on moving to Spain in the coming years, with the hope of exploring the surrounding area on bikes. And guess what I just discovered? That Portugal lies in the western part of the Iberian Peninsula, smack dab next to Spain. And so, I’ve been looking up some cool facts on Portugal that I wanted to share with you.  1- Language Portuguese is a Latin-based language with its roots stretching back over two thousand years when it was spoken by the Romanized Celts (cool, I know!) It is the 6th most-spoken language in the world with two million native speakers. 2- Flag The Portugal flag is rectangular and bicolor with a field which is unevenly divided into green on the hoist and a red on the fly. The red and green symbolize the people who died for her freedom and the shield acts as the prime symbol of Portuguese pride. 3- Food The close proximity of Portugal as a country to the Atlantic Ocean makes fish the staple food among its citizens. Portuguese...

The Competition of Life- Win a Week in Dakhla- Family Travel Blog Perks

The Competition of Life- Win a Week in Dakhla- Family Travel Blog Perks

We’re back from hiking the Annapurna Circuit and I feel deeply that with some reflection I will better be able to share with you what it all meant to us. I think with some time I will be more apt in carving my words just right. I believe that what I have to say is dramatically different from what Kobi and I had read online before taking on this huge project with our kids. No, the Annapurna is not an easy trail. No, we would not have taken our kids if we had known the physical and mental challenges we would face. Yes, it was amazing, and will be more so with some distance. At one point when we were already over the pass and in Totopani when Kobi went on a wild goose chase to reclaim his hijacked/stolen/lost/forgotten laptop, in tears, I told the film crew how I’d love just one uneventful day, just one day with no near-death experiences and hair-raising drama. Just one day. And for...
