I think we are equally blessed that our lifestyle does not prevents us from being so busy doing life that we don’t have the time to get to know our fellow stranger. Our lifestyle gives us the time to be curious about others and learn from everyone who enters our sphere. Matt has the entire spectrum of Mother Nature’s mysteries covered. New Child-Size Scuba Gear Photo Essay- Savedra Dive Center, Panagsama Beach, Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines

New Child-Size Scuba Gear Photo Essay- Savedra Dive Center, Panagsama Beach, Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines

Is is common practice that a dive shop will go and buy new child-size scuba gear to be sure they are absolutely serving you to the highest most professional, safest manner? Is it the norm that a dive shop will pride it’s customer service and the quality of it’s gear so much that it will make investments that it knows will take a long time to repay. even for one client? Is it what you find all over the world in dive shops that they care so much, they take the time to be absolutely meticulous in their safety and precautions? No. We’ve dove (or have we diven?) all over the world and our experience, and the irresponsible horror stories we’ve heard from fellow divers around the world, yells, “No!” But, hear ye, hear yea, we found a diamond in the rough. Finding Home, Laughter, & This Great Freak- Savedra Dive Center, Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines

Finding Home, Laughter, & This Great Freak- Savedra Dive Center, Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines

I miss Lee. No, not the pretty one. That ugly guy. Yeah, that one. I would never say that to his face (the part about missing him, I mean; the part about him being ugly I said to him ALL THE TIME). I would never admit that I miss him to his face cuz admitting affection which would drastically limit my ability to cut him down at every potential given moment, and it is in there mere potential that the power lies. Yes, admitting how much I adore the crazy bald guy would be putting me in a huge strategic disadvantage and we’ll have none of that. Have you ever met someone who makes you laugh, but really laugh all, all, all, all the time? Have you ever walked into your place of work, or that hostel, or that friend’s house and felt your heart tingle with joy at the anticipation of seeing those you love? That just about explains how I felt walking into Savedra Dive Center every...

Diving With Sea Turtles- Moalboal, Philippines, Savedra Dive Center [Video]

Diving With Sea Turtles- Moalboal, Philippines, Savedra Dive Center [Video]

We loved Panagsama Beach in a way that is hard to express. Was it that the kids were roaming for hours a night in the streets doing what kids are supposed to, getting dirty, playing chase, getting lost in hide and seek, and normal street-smartology that comes with life in the hood? Was it just how unreal Henry and Hermann the German and Lee from Savedra Dive Center were and how hysterically inappropriate and funny the times were with them? Was it Raffy the angel who taught us about seizures and love and being unmanly? There was so much joy in that life in Moalboal at Anthony’s. Yes, there was the 60 year old expats with their 20 year old girlfriends and all that came with that. Yes. But, there were sea turtles. Oceans of them, almost every dive and that once when Solai and I were snorkeling right there off the shore, and how he slowed down and looked back at us, waiting for us to continue being...
