The Indian e-visa allows for issuance of a visa upon arrival and departure from the airports in Ahmadabad, Amritsar, Trivandrum, Bengaluru (Bangalore), Chennai, Cochin, Delhi, Gaya, Goa, Hyderabad, Jaipur, Kolkata, Tiruchirapalli, Lucknow, Mumbai and Varanasi. If arriving or departing from any other airport, a traditional Indian visa application is required.
The Indian e-Visa is given and stored electronically. The traveler won’t receive any document via email. The e-visa will be sent through email. This should be printed and be with you as well as your valid passport upon arrival to India. On arrival to India and after biometric information has been received at the airport the visa will be stamped.

Make sure you are up-to-date on routine vaccines as well as possession of a vaccination card to prove it. These vaccines include measles-mumps-rubella vaccine, diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis vaccine, polio vaccine, and your yearly flu shot.  There is no risk of yellow fever in India.  India requires proof of yellow fever vaccination only if you are arriving from a country with high risk of yellow fever.
