The Best Places to Travel to With Younger Children
Family holidays are one of the best ways to spend quality time together, forming life-long memories. But where should you take younger children? Not everywhere is suitable. When you’re travelling with youngsters, you need fun-filled places that accommodate for families with plenty to keep everyone happy.
We’ve gathered five of our favourite places to travel to with young kids. Check them out:
What better family adventure is there than Florida? Home of theme parks, it’s certainly got plenty to keep you all busy. Kids can see their favourite characters come to life and tire themselves out at the water park. It’s great for families with kids of all different ages, as they’ll be something that everyone can get involved in. Even parents can’t help but have a good time.
Gold Coast, Australia
The Gold Coast of Australia is full of resorts with kids’ clubs and child-friendly pools, activities and entertainment. It takes away some of the stress from you. So when you’re ready to head to the beach, you’ll be up for some family fun. After all, as this kids safety travel guide says, “a bucket and spade can provide hours of entertainment for sand n’ surf loving tots.” Once they get a bit older, you can return and book some surfing lessons.
Another unlikely place you can surf is in Cornwall. In fact, The Independent say an estimated 250,000 people go surfing in Britain every year. But if your kids are still too young, there’s loads more you can do in this beautiful county. It’s the place to go to spend time in the great outdoors. Visit the Eden Project, Minack Theatre, The Lizard or one of the many mines. You could also explore some of the quaint towns – Mousehole, Falmouth and St Ives are just a few.
The Dordogne offers up a slice of history and culture for you and your kids to enjoy. Medieval towns, ancient castles, prehistoric caves and spectacular views await you. You’ve also got to visit one of the many local markets to try a wide range of fresh produce. Treat yourself to some great food, make a picnic and set off on a family canoe trip down the river.
Newsfeed say it’s the best country in the world to be a child, so why not take yours to Japan? It’s a city full of life. Whether you end up at the zoo, at Disneyland, one of the many museums or Legoland Discovery Centre, you’re all sure to have a good time.
There’s plenty of interactive activities for younger kids to get involved with. At the same time, you’re all experiencing a new culture. Go on an open-top bus tour and take it all in, before heading off to try some authentic food. We recommend Wagyu beef or trying to hunt down the perfect bowl of ramen.
