Most Magical Place on the Planet- Cappadocia, Turkey- RTW Nomadic Family Travel Question #29

Most Magical Place on the Planet- Cappadocia, Turkey- RTW Nomadic Family Travel Question #29

most magical place on the planet, cappadocia turkey

After three and half year globetrotting, it’s a huge honor to sit back, sigh, and reflect. There were moments that sucked beyond comprehension, moments where I wanted to crawl into fetal position and be ‘home’ (whatever that really means); and there were moments when I raised my hands to the heavens or hugged my kids and Kobi even closer still, and thanked God/the fairies/the stars for our unreal fortune and luck to have been able to have had just that moment. We grew so close, fell apart, witnessed, cried, laughed, got lost and found in seventeen lands and always still in the chamber of our own souls.

And sometimes, we’re asked THE question, the one that take my breath away- where was your favorite place in the world, which is evergreen bittersweet for there is something unquenchably romantic about the longing of the human heart, and how, no matter how wonderful it was, or how it could never be that again, or even no matter how remarkable the Now is, still, there is something that sighs in your soul and, and, remembers. Returning to that river side fantasy in Ecuador; returning to that Vippassana in Battambang, Cambodia; returning to diving with Savedra Dive Center and sea turtles in the Philippines takes back all the senses and all that was and tesseracts your entirety to another slice of Being that is now an intimate fold in the history of That Which You Are.

The most magical place on the planet, though, has no competition. It’s a no-brainer, an instant response, a knowing as clear as that traveling the globe with our three young children was an irreplaceable gift for the rest of our lives.

Ever walked into a fairy tale? Welcome to Cappadocia, Turkey; our beloved Taskonaklar in Cappadocia, Turkiye!

Taskonaklar Rocky Cave Hotel

We arrived at night to Taskonaklar Rocky Cave Hotel in Cappadocia, Turkiye to those fairy chimneys lit up like a theater under the amphitheatered stars, to those caves and all the mystery, magic and curiosity that they elicit, and we knew, we knew, we knew that we were in for one unparalleled week of pampering, magic, romance, and thrills. And so it is that we walked into a mystical fairy tale, a land kissed with the preservation of hundreds of years back. We’ve got hours and hours of story-telling magic to share from our unparalleled magical week at Taskonaklar Rocky Cave Hotel in Cappadocia, Turkey. The staff was warm, loving, affectionate and caring with the kids, and gave us every single meal, every single time we came and left, the undoubted feeling that we were precious, loved, and that this was home. Either exploring Cappadocia by foot, or with tours arranged through the awesome Cengiz Kellekci from Turkey Chalo Worldwide Travel  Services. Turkey Chalo worked out all the details with Turkiye Balloons, one professional, beautiful group of Turkish-pride homeland souls. We cannot ever thank the lovely Tolga running the family-owned eco-friendly  Taskonaklar Rocky Cave Hotel enough for having us in his palace. He was the singular reason we found ourselves in one magical week in a fairy tale, and has since become a dear family friend.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Insanely unorthodox, embarrassingly honest, and on her path towards spiritual awareness, Gabi Klaf blogs about her family’s ups and downs in their now third year of non-stop budget world travel. This family of five has lived with an indigenous tribe in the jungles of Ecuador, hitchhiked throughout the world, danced with drunk Vietnamese at weddings, and hiked the entire Annapurna Circuit trek with a documentary film crew in tow. Gabi writes about the untold sides of family travel life, those moments that take your breath away, adventures and mishaps while globetrotting, and how bits of her soul remain in this small town and off the side of that river. She is a guitar-stumming, energy-healing, ADHD wind-loving scaredy cat. Hugely romantic, tantalizingly sweet, and hysterically funny, Gabi Klaf represents a rare Rubik’s Cube of family world adventure.
