Another Wish List Dream Come True- Ancient Greek Ruins- Pergamon, Acropolis- Red Basilica Hotel & Cafe, SmallHotels.com.tr, Bergama, Turkey
We wrote a book about making your dreams come true , talked about never giving up on dreams, and have pissed off more than a few friends in making our a reality. We have so many travel dreams and wishes of different shades and colors. Some, like going to Australia and biking across Europe we’re putting on hold. Others, like going back to India for 6 months in 2015 and getting fully in shape and feeling alive, we’re still chugging at. And then there are those dreams that were a sigh, dreams that we said “one day” and didn’t really take it past that for dinner had to be made or someone was crying or there was work to do on the computer. One of those dreams was seeing Ancient Greek ruins.
Since hitting the road, we have taken huge strides in investing in our children’s education. We’ve given particular attention that they experience cool things in the ocean like diving with sea turtles in the Philippines or surfing in Huanchaco, Peru. We’ve put them in classrooms across Costa Rica, Cambodia, and India that we felt would add color (and friendships) to their lives. We’ve schooled them in the three R’s and took great joy in reading to them aloud literature that we felt would add character and morality to their souls.
And so, when we read D’Aulaires‘ Book of Greek Myths way back in Boquete, Panama and Union Venecia, Ecuador, there was this silent wish (deep, deep inside) that one day we’ll get to explore the temples of these gods and goddesses and feel the magic of those myths. And so, yet another dream has bore fruit.

A Gift From Kobi Just for You
Have you been to Acropolis in Bergama, Turkiye or in Athens, Greece? Have you been to any historical sites that just took the textbook from dull to 3D? Have you ever had a dream that you whispered and sort of forgot of until it came and hit you in the face with a cool breeze of luckiness? Tell me, loves, tell me.
All of this learning magic was made possible because of Fatih at The Red Basilica Hotel who was kind enough to host us for two nights and Izim at SmallHotels.com.tr who was insane enough to coordinate for us a 5-week tour with the Small Hotels across Turkey. We could never say thank you enough to those who believe in us enough to say, “Yes, come, child. I will invest in your dream,” and to Fatih for believing that man is man (regardless of the flag and what governments try to teach us) and that love is love (regardless of where you come from). Fatih, as a retired international basketball referee who had visited Israel many times, reignited in us a passion for sports which we converted into buying a skateboard and soccer ball in Bergama and using with great family passion. YOu can find them on Facebook here and see our arrival Facebook album here. Should you come to Bergama, we truly hope you stay at the Red Basilica Hotel with Fatih and his staff.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Insanely unorthodox, embarrassingly honest, and on her path towards spiritual awareness, Gabi Klaf blogs about her family’s ups and downs in their now third year of non-stop budget world travel. This family of five has lived with an indigenous tribe in the jungles of Ecuador, hitchhiked throughout the world, danced with drunk Vietnamese at weddings, and hiked the entire Annapurna Circuit trek with a documentary film crew in tow. Gabi writes about the untold sides of family travel life, those moments that take your breath away, adventures and mishaps while globetrotting, and how bits of her soul remain in this small town and off the side of that river. She is a guitar-stumming, energy-healing, ADHD wind-loving scaredy cat. Hugely romantic, tantalizingly sweet, and hysterically funny, Gabi Klaf represents a rare Rubik’s Cube of family world adventure.
We’re out doing crazy stuff and making our dreams come true, every single one of them, and a few more that sort of flew into our mouths while we were smiling into the wind.
