The Mother of All Videos, The Father of All Vacations-, Macaron Konagi Otel- Ayvalik, Turkey- Eastern Europe Road Trip

And so our Eastern European Road Trip begins in Turkey and our fear of being murdered by the enemy has melted away to a deep love and appreciation of Turkey and the Turkish people. We have fallen in love, quickly, with the food, the people, and the culture so close to that we know in Israel. And Ayvalik is this small fairy tale little fisherman’s town, lazy, and sprinkled by fluffy but healthy street cats and more scruffy but smiling old men. Ayvalik is  sunny but crisp, and weather-wise, dearly reminds us of our beloved Dalat, Vietnam.

This video is my new art and it brings me immense pleasure. It reflects in about three minutes the joys and sunny life we experienced for 4 days in Ayvalik, Turkey at’s Macaron Konagi.

Macaron Konagi was our precious first experience with feel in love with Yavuz and Serap and their passion to make this dream come true. They bought an ancient, run-down, dilapidated ruin and turned it, with love and care to heart-warming details, into a little gardened fairy-tale. Should you have the blessed chance to visit to Turkey and come to Ayvalik, we dearly hope you will consider spoiling yourself with a vacation here. Thank you Yavuz and Serap and your loving staff for these four beautiful nights.

Insanely unorthodox, embarrassingly honest, and on her path towards spiritual awareness, Gabi Klaf blogs about her family’s ups and downs in their now third year of non-stop budget world travel. This family of five has lived with an indigenous tribe in the jungles of Ecuador, hitchhiked throughout the world, danced with drunk Vietnamese at weddings, and hiked the entire Annapurna Circuit trek with a documentary film crew in tow. Gabi writes about the untold sides of family travel life, those moments that take your breath away, adventures and mishaps while globetrotting, and how bits of her soul remain in this small town and off the side of that river. She is a guitar-stumming, energy-healing, ADHD wind-loving scaredy cat. Hugely romantic, tantalizingly sweet, and hysterically funny, Gabi Klaf represents a rare Rubik’s Cube of family world adventure.
