Back Stage Hysterical Fun With Strait Groove Band from Singapore- Backhome Hostel, KL, Malaysia
- Sometimes, we cry and tell you how miserable we are and how we try to crawl out of it.
- Sometimes, we admit big mistakes with high ticket prices and bow to learning.
- Sometimes, we try hard not to judge people making the choices are right for them.
- Sometimes, we’re having unreal crazy adventures and screaming in foam fights.
- Sometimes, we’re sharing all the irresponsible, stupid stuff we’ve done that could have killed us.
- Sometimes, we’re really confused and we’re missing home.
And sometimes, we’re jamming with artists and cool people across the globe. Meet Srait Groove and get ready to chill and laugh. This short video oddly recorded on the kitchen table at Backhome Hostel (it was a challenge to get us all to fit into the screen) shows how awesome they are.
We love the best hostel in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Backhome Hostel, who hosted us for A MONTH, which we will never forget! They became our family, and rightfully so, for they are a family of staff that has been in the same hostel for years. That tells you a lot about a place when there is ridiculously low turn-over. They are warm and loving and amazing. God, I have to sit down and right about them already!
And, we love meeting so many cool people along the road. I hope when we return to Israel that I can take this same curiosity and excitement about mankind back to every person I meet. But that’s not what I do here on the road either. Sometimes, I’m super social and see and record and talk and laugh, and have the great fortune of meeting awesome people like Strait Groove. And sometimes, I’m super shy and antisocial and hermit into my own little world (more often than not) and than Meg Ryan herself could appear before me and I’d shyly smile and go off on my way.
So, Strait Groove’s website and Facebook page. We’re still jamming to their CD around here. They are pretty cool. I know, they are adorable. Every met any young aspiring artists? Did they ever serenade you on the kitchen table? Food there never quite tasted the same. Mwah, Gabi

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Insanely unorthodox, embarrassingly honest, and on her path towards spiritual awareness, Gabi Klaf blogs about her family’s ups and downs in their now third year of non-stop budget world travel. This family of five has lived with an indigenous tribe in the jungles of Ecuador, hitchhiked throughout the world, danced with drunk Vietnamese at weddings, and hiked the entire Annapurna Circuit trek with a documentary film crew in tow. Gabi writes about the untold sides of family travel life, those moments that take your breath away, adventures and mishaps while globetrotting, and how bits of her soul remain in this small town and off the side of that river. She is a guitar-stumming, energy-healing, ADHD wind-loving scaredy cat. Hugely romantic, tantalizingly sweet, and hysterically funny, Gabi Klaf represents a rare Rubik’s Cube of family world adventure.
We’re out doing crazy stuff and making our dreams come true, every single one of them, and a few more that sort of flew into our mouths while we were smiling into the wind.
