You’ve seen us live in an RV, a tent, and even sleep that one night in a bar. You’ve witnessed us in five-star hotels, in beautiful hostels around the world, and even sleep that one night in a whorehouse, which for the record, we really didn’t know it was one when we checked in. We’ve hated this one and that one, lived without electricity and water, and have fallen in love with entire island villages. We’ve dreamed about biking for a year through Europe, living in Spain, spending a year in Africa, and even Kobi and I traveling alone in one of those vans with a tent on top. So, we may seem to be babbling dreams all over the place but here’s how we see it.

If you want anything to move in your life, you must move. “Shoot for the moon. If you miss, you’ll hit a star” is a phrase I always taught my groups. Move. Start. Dare. Question. Shuffle. And then, that change in energy has to go somewhere. Right? Energy cannot be destroyed, just converted to something else. So, we take the ‘butterfly effect’ and El Nino, for us personally, to mean keep dreaming up this way, that life, this possibility, and we’ll see what comes up. We believe in putting out a lot of fishing hooks and seeing what catches. And so, now, are you ready to drool over this one?

Aruba!

Why?

Well, why not?

OK, here’s a few why’s?

1- We’ve been living on islands for a long time and loving it!

  • Boca de Torro, Panama
  • Koh Rong Island, Cambodia
  • Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines

2- We’re a diving family and love it!

You know our love affair with sea turtles and you know that Kobi has dove (or has he ‘diven’?) around the world. An island like Aruba surely means diving and/or snorkeling, which we adore.

3- We’re a beach family and love it!

Well, we actually love mountains too, and rain (but that’s another story, but a really good one… the rain analogies in our lives. I digress. And so…) Beach life like we had off of

  • Taganga, Colombia
  • Miroflores, Lima, Peru
  • Huanchaco, Peru
  • Los Lajas, Panama
  • Sihanoukville, Cambodia
  • Koh Rong Island, Cambodia
  • Panagsama Beach, Moalboal, Cebu, Philippines
  • Siquijor, Philippines (just Gabi)

And for us, island life means no or very few cars and noise and pollution, great breezes, tons of laid-back people who chill and smile as a way of life, and unreal sunsets. So, call me crazy (I take it as a compliment actually) but this destination is maybe just as romantic as a place can be for Kobi and I: Aruba.  Aruba is our next crazy dream! And…. there’s that Beach Boys song that tells me it must be on our bucket list. Come one pretty momma!

Been there? Will I drool? Can you so see me sitting under a palm tree sipping on some coconut in the cool ocean breeze? Do ya? Tell me. I can handle it.

Gabi

  1. Hi, there…in your bucket list I see no mention of a sailboat. You must come sail with us in the British Virgin Islands! Family sailing vacations are a great way to experience things you can experience nowhere else. Try halyard flying! http://www.katlocharters.com/halyard-flying/ If you love the beach you will adore sailing a yacht charter. Hope to see you soon!

  2. I’ve never been to Aruba, but I’ve seen lots of pictures of the Island. It’s a beautiful place that’s for sure. So I can’t wait to read your stories and see some pictures after you visit the island. Thanks for sharing your travel stories!
