Val at This Way To Paradise- Tasting Oaxaca

God, I’m so hungry right now. Dear God! We’re going to a BBQ to celebrate the graduation of Manny as an official PADI Dive Master with Savedra Dive Center tonight! And still, right now, I’m dying to eat. This post does not make my life any easier. Except for the big head (thank you Val) and things that look too recognizable or that have eyes that stare back at me when I crunch into them, the rest of this stuff is killing me right now!

So, eighteen experienced world travelers have spoken. If you like this collection, share it loves, go, now, be off with you, share, share, share, and then, share some more. You know you love food porn. Admit it. This article was that good. :-) So, go share it!

If you’ve written a post or want to tell us the absolute best thing you’ve eaten on the planet, please leave your link or food description in the comments. We’d love for you to join in our next photo carnival as well. In July, we’re doing Scariest Moment on the Road. You simply email me at gabiklaf@gmail.com with the subject line: Scariest Moment. Send me a 600x 450 photo and a link to a post you wrote about it and you’re in. I take entries up until the July 20th and will publish at the end of the month.

We’ve written a highly inspirational e-book about money and how you can take these ten steps to make your travel dreams come true. It has helped many and helps us continue our travel dreams. I do hope you will consider spending the $8 and learning/ be reminded of what you can do, starting today, to make your family world travel dreams come true. You can do it too friends. You can. You can.

Thank you dearly,

  1. Definitely nice to see Spain represented not once, but three times! It’s a cuisine that is getting the love it deserves, finally! So glad I didn’t read this at lunchtime!

    • Cat, I know! I would have died to read it at lunch, wait, i did die right before the BBQ. go spain- three times! i didn’t even notice!

  2. Those photos are fabulous. A great collection of people’s favourites… all in one place.
I’m now ravenous – thanks for that! :)
    Elle x

    • i hear you sister! Elle, sooo much good food all in one convenient to-die-for spot. i know!

  3. Great food porn collection, guys! :)

Thanks for including us and the mouth-watering Curanto from Chile.

Food is one of my favorite things about traveling to new places.. I see I’m not alone when it comes to that! 😉

    • zara- such great food porn! totally great. your dish looks unreal dear, unreal.

  4. wow, these are too much to see right before my lunch timeframe, would love to join for the carnival…which day does this happen?

    • hi noel. yes, they are truly evil before a meal. they are. carnivals go up the end of each month. you simply send me an email with a photo 600 x 450, a link to a post on the topic and your url and you’re in. if you want to play here are the next three coming up. simply email with the subject line being the topic of the carnival:

june- best food in the world
july- scariest moment on the road
august- most amazing act of kindness on the road
september- that one mistake i made

  5. A great round up. So many delicious foods from around the world!

    • yeah, a super collection. really extraordinary!

  6. This post is too delicious! Im so hungry now!

    • dj- i know! it’s evil when you’re hungry!

  7. Okay, some of this made me drool and others were YUK! I would have to go for the stuffed mushrooms myself, not too much into seafood or creepy crawly things. This is great, I just love the variety of perspectives.

    • i know. i know. some yum and some yuck i’m not a seafood type either but my family is. if you have a link heidi, send it along in a comment and do join us for the july carnival love.

  8. Oh my, I’m feeling really hungry now! Off the top of my head, I think I would pick pizza in Napoli as my favourite food in the world. And I’d wash it down with a Peroni, of course.

    • so hard to pick, right? i’m starving and doing a 6 day raw food cleansing so this post is not doing me well right about now. oh, sounds amazing, if you have a link to a post about it, please send it along. gabi

  9. Yum, everything looks so good. Food in itself is a good enough reason to travel. I especially love Kirstie’s artistic photo on Costa Brava – great angle. Thanks for including my pic.

    • yes laurel. i’m totally with you. food is it. i always say when things go wrong, “I’m only here for the food!” Kirstie’s angle was special, as was Adam’s choice of Za’atar, a spice! Your photo fits in snugly. Thank you for joining in the carnival. I’m so lucky to have such great new blogs introduced to me through this. Gabi

  10. These all look so good, Gabi! Nothing inspires me to travel more than food so South East Asia and the Middle East (I share Adam’s love of za’tar!) are at the top of my list. Thanks for including me in this great lineup!

    • you are so right cassie. the food is unreal. many of my fondest memories after people, of course, is the food. i love middle eastern food, and miss it dearly. thanks for joining in for this project. you food looks unreal! gabi

  11. Some of this looks great, but I have to say that some I would definitely not be able to stomach. I think it’s all relative when it comes to how good the food is. We have just had some toast with Irish cheddar and Marmite on, it tasted so good, because we have been without it for so long, but would be quite regular back home and we wouldn’t think it was anything special.

    • andrew, i totally agree. i think state of mind is a huge one in terms of how deeply the food experience gets imprinted in your memory. totally! most of my best meals were around who we were with and what was going on with us emotionally, but, i must say, some were just so delish that all hell could have been breaking loss and we’d still die from how good the food porn was! thanks for stopping by again and again friend.

  12. These all look so drool-worthy! I wonder if it’s a coincidence that a lot of my favorite destinations around the world had amazing food…

    • no coincidence dear reena. it’s all in the food. it’s all about the food. why the hell would we travel in the first place? :-)

    • i loved the pics stephanie. thank you for adding it. maybe you’d like to join us for our monthly carnivals. i’d be honored. if yes, email me gabiklaf@gmail.com and i’ll give you the details. gabi

  13. Food is so much a part of travel memories. I wish I could remember to take the photos!

    • sandra dearest. thank you for sharing. i think when you put it here, others can see what other amazing foods are out there. sweet tooth. dear god, i go weak at the knees. thank you for sharing again sandra. gabi

  14. Yummy! I will now be spending my day clicking on the links to those fabulous–and varied–photos! 😛

    • larissa dear. i hope you are not hungry when you look. i clicked on many of the links and there is soooo much good food!

  15. Indian for me! But we’ve just landed in Thailand, so some hot competition to come. Thanks for featuring us.

    • i love you alyson and your food thoughts. did you ever get the pecan pies near backhome? they were sinful. and the hummingbird cake? you love featuring you. wasn’t the indian food in kl so cheap and amazing? loved it.

  16. These are all great! It made me think of all the tasty, weird and amazing food I have had during my years of traveling. I make it my mission to try as many local dishes as I can when I visit a new place.

    • how wonderful marina. how marvelous. great list, i know if you have a post about your food experiences, please paste a link here so we can all go and drool. thank you dear. gabi
