This is so seemingly meaningless and mundane, but no. We’re on an adventure to unknown territories, and oh my God people lie by the way… Every person we met told us, “Oh, just two more blocks,” “Just around that corner” or “Just five minutes more.”

They lied! Oh my God, they lied. And I bet they took great pleasure in doing so.

And it was such a blazing HOT day! But, the Gods again smile upon us so kindly for we had with us ENRIQUE AND JORGE who were nothing less than magical angels. They were just hanging out in the hostel, bored, and we said, innocently, “Wanna come send this suitcase to the post office with us?”

“Sure, why not!”And the adventure begins….

And they picked up the kids, made them laugh, played games with us the entire way, complained about the unbearable heat, and again, picked up the kids when the extremely hot sun coupled with the ‘two blocks more’ lie got too much for them.

And while we waited in line FOR HOURS, Enrique and Jorge played with the kids, made them into airplanes and threw them through the air, and made as much merriment as is totally inappropriate for indoor, closed, civilized public places.

Ever met really nice people who just glued to you and were nice to your children? I am constantly amazed/shocked/surprised when young twenty-something year olds take a keen interest in our kids and spend days upon days being nice to them, playing with them, hanging out, and you can tell that they really, really enjoy being kids again. So, that’s our post office story…. Not too fancy, but I am so grateful for Jorge and Enrique being in our lives then. Got any great post office stories….

If you have gmail, please open it, and then this post again, and give us a google plus one ‘like’. It helps us out tons!!! We love you
